Rural communities often keep pets and tender livestock for profit, sustenance, and pleasure. Communities like these also tend to fruit, berry, and vineyards, as well as gardens, for-profit, and sustenance.
Unfortunately, horses, livestock and pets make attractive targets for predators. Fruit trees, gardens and commercial orchards including grape and cherry vineyards attract game animals and birds. The financial loss of crops can be substantial.
Until now that has been a limited selection of technologies that keep such animals away. One such technology that adequately does the job is a propane cannon. This cannon fires off a charge periodically and thus scares away any animal within close proximity. The propane cannon produces enormous sound waves such that it is only applicable in very rural or open commercial applications well removed from sleeping communities. Commercial orchards and airports often use these cannons.
Other technologies like sirens and loud noise-producing devices have also been used with some success but run amuck with local noise ordinances.
One particular sound which animals shy away from which is also much less intrusive than cannons is that which is also naturally produced in nature. And that is a spark or the ionization of air molecules. The high pitch sound of rapidly ionizing air is what causes the noise related to lightening. Sparks are normally accompanied by a slight and brief order of ozone which disappears almost immediately.
Jack Zapper XP mimics the sound and smell of a lighting plasma discharge and causes a flight response in animals and birds.
